Unaccompanied Personnel

Hawaii Regional Unaccompanied Housing (UH) manages and operates all Navy and Air Force Unaccompanied Housing on the island of Oahu and PMRF Barking Sands, Kauai.

With over 4,400 beds located in 52 facilities, Hawaii Regional UH (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and PMRF Hawaii) is one of the Navy’s largest lodging operations for unaccompanied and visiting DoD personnel in the Pacific.

All unaccompanied personnel on PCS orders must check-in to the UH Administration Office within 72 hours of arrival with Command endorsed orders in hand. Please contact our UH Admin clerks for any questions:

Air Force Personnel:
Unaccompanied E-1s - E-4s, with less than three years of service, will be assigned to a base dormitory. Please notify your sponsor to reserve a room prior to your arrival at Hickam AFB. You should be assigned a dorm room the day you arrive on Oahu. There are 5 dormitory buildings, supporting 28 squadrons. If you have any questions please call (808) 448-2007.

Navy Personnel:
Personnel ordered to Navy Region Hawaii who, by choice or circumstance, have decided that their dependents will continue to live in another geographic area are considered in this category.

Geographical Bachelors (GB) are receiving Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) at the “with dependents” rate. They are not normally authorized to live in UH, however, we do have a limited number of spaces available for GB’s. GB’s must submit an application that will be reviewed by management. If approved, the GB will be placed on the waiting list and offered UH when it becomes available. GB’s may also apply to be Resident Advisors (RA). For more information about the GB/RA program or to have a GB application faxed or mailed to you, please contact UH Admin.
