While awaiting the arrival of your household goods, the government can provide you with temporary loaner furniture for a period not to exceed 90 days. This entitlement applies to U.S. military personnel and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians, accompanied and unaccompanied, who are entitled to a household goods (HHG) shipment. Exceptions or waivers due to mitigating circumstances may be approved by the local housing authority. This temporary loaner furniture is also provided to outgoing personnel after household goods are shipped to the next assignment.
If you plan to rent off-base or utilize the Navy PPV housing, you may decide to ship your washer and dryer with you; Navy PPV and some rental homes do not provide these items.
